The quiet note

Movement & breath teacher

A plain practice, taught quietly.

I teach slow movement and breath in Aarhus — mostly to people who sit all day, carry their tension in the neck, and think they are too stiff or too busy to start.

I arrived at this through a stiff neck and a head that would not quiet down. Years at a screen had rounded my shoulders and shortened my patience, and the first crowded, fast class I tried only made me feel worse at it.

The class that stuck was almost boringly calm. The teacher moved slowly, kept the room quiet, and started with the breath every single time. Nothing impressive happened, and that turned out to be the point.

So this is what I teach: short, plain practices you will actually repeat, a longer exhale than inhale, steady balance work, and shapes taken only to the edge of sensation. Rest is part of the practice, not a break from it.

Everything I teach in the studio is written down here in plain language, so you can keep practising at home on the mornings you cannot come in.
